Classy and Luxurious Outfit for After Party of Linnanjuhlat

Posted by

It’s outfit time after a long while! Today’s look is a classy and luxurious outfit including a long black dress look to a fancy after party of Linnanjuhlat (which is a big event hosted to celebrate the Independence Day of Finland). The dress code for this after party was black tie for the men and matching long dress for the women.

We got the invitation around three weeks before the event as a big surprise, so we didn’t have too much time to plan our looks. Anyhow, we did figure out having really nice outfits in my opinion. My husband’s tuxedo was rented from Frakkipalvelu Nam located in Helsinki. Below you can learn more about my outfit.

My Dress

When I first got the invitation, I also got a small outfit panic. Straight after the invitation we went shopping for a dress for my fortunately find one from the third store we visited. It was pretty hard to do the shopping since at that time I was in the city where I study which is significantly smaller than the city of my apartment #1.

My dress is very beautiful and classy one with some statement kind of ”diamonds”. I think this dress matched my body type very well and as it’s black it can probably be used again with different accessories.

My Accessories

The theme of this party was partly environment. So, I decided to save some environment by using my old red heels from Högl and old bag from Enzo Rozzi. I love the classic combination of black dress and red accessories.

If you’re interested here are some previous outfits I’ve done with the same heels and/or bag:

In addition to my red accessories I had some jewelry. I was wearing my engagement and wedding rings and multiple earrings. My earrings are all from a Finnish store called Kultajousi. I bought these originally for my wedding. I’ll do a post about my wedding look after all the relatives have seen the photos I have from there.

My Hair

My hair is in a low bun made by Rebecca Reunanen, the hairdresser who also did my hair for my wedding and colors it regularly. You can find her from Instagram and you can schedule an appointment from the website of Style by.

I found inspiration to this bun from Pinterest while looking for luxurious afternoon hair styles. I was also searching for wedding hair styles since those buns where mostly matching the idea of hair I wanted. If you like similar style than me, you can find some evening style ideas from my Evening Style Pinterest board.

My Makeup

I did my makeup myself since I wanted to save some money and because I think I’m pretty good to do my makeup myself. There’s no way I would do a luxurious bun or a dress myself, so I was happy to spend some money on these.

My makeup includes:

  • Kat Von D Lock It concealer
  • NYX Highlight and Contour Pro Palette
  • Sugarpill Cold Chemistry Palette (black & white eyeshadows)
  • Lumene Blueberry Eyebrow Pencil tone 1
  • Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes black mascara
  • YSL Rouge Pur Couture tone 50

If you’re interested in seeing how I do this, or my other makeup looks please let me know in the comment section below and I can do a video. 🙂
