Hotel Review: Hotel Citadines République, Paris, France
Location
Location ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
The hotel is located in area called Le Marais which is know to be very liberal area of Paris. The area is around 2 hours walk from downtown so using a car or taxi might be a good idea.
We drove around with a car (make sure you are or have a good driver with an insured car!) and also walked twice. Walking 1-2 times is fun because you can see different areas of Paris but if you’re staying for longer a car might get handy.
Note: do some prior googling about driving culture of Paris. It’s possible and even quite easy after a couple of days but it makes it easier if you know some basics about how traffic in Paris work. If you guys are interested I can do a separate post about driving in different cities in Europe.

The bed was big and comfy and it was nice to have own little kitchenette. There was also couple of tables and different lamps included. The room was nice and clean, which was a pleasant surprise in Paris which isn’t the most clean European city though it’s otherwise interesting city full of things to explore.
There was separate shower room and bathroom. That is kind of handy when there is two people staying. However, the bathroom only had toilet seat with no sink which I found quite disgusting. The shower room was big enough and nice.
Other notes
In Paris you can pay parking in place and then park everywhere in the same zone. You just choose your license plate and add time to your parking if needed. Parking fees apply from Mon-Sat in downtown area.
In front of this hotel was quite a lot of parking spots at the street nearby.
Overall
Overall ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Hotel Citadines République is a nice and comfy hotel which is perfect if you’re looking for a nice room with own kitchenette. This hotel is especially good for travelers planning to spend some time in Le Marais area or move around with a car.
For international travelers this hotel is great because their service staff speaks very fluent English. Also, if you want to grocery shop and then cook yourself this hotel is an excellent choice for you – there is an own kitchenette and right next to the hotel there is one 24/7 store and two other grocery stores.

Lovely decor in the place! How were the public transport links around the hotel? I remember using the metro was a doddle when I visited and stayed a little further away from the city centre.

To be honest I’m not completely sure because we where there with our car (yep we drove in Paris!). We drove around most time and once we walked to center (around 2-3 hours walk so probably we should have taken a taxi or subway).

Nice, thorough review! What I love about European cities is the public transportation, so I dread driving there.

I’m happy to hear you liked the review, Sabra! I kind of like the freedom a car gives but sometimes it’s nice to use public transport to avoid stress and parking fees.
