Traveling with a car and wanting to stop somewhere in Hamburg? Holiday Inn Hamburg is right next to the highway which makes it easy to visit with a car.
This hotel, in addition, offers great value for your money. Luxurious big rooms, pool, gym, bars, and restaurants are all available in the building. There might also be little candies or free drinks waiting for you as a surprise.
Location
Location ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
This hotel doesn’t have the most beautiful views because it’s right next to a big highway. However, if you value easy to enter the location in 15 minutes drive from downtown this hotel is a gem.
There isn’t thought much to do around the hotel so a car is a must in my opinion. Luckily Germany is a great and fun country for driving so if you’re not taking your own car with you, you can sure rent one and enjoy the easiness of going around.

This hotel is a huge labyrinth at the first view. However, after going couple times to wrong places you’ll sure learn. The hotel has beautiful, luxurious style everywhere indoors. The building itself is nothing special, it’s actually not looking very welcoming in my opinion.
When you check in you can expect to be warmly welcomed and well informed by the friendly staff of the hotel. The service was very polite and fast. Nothing to complain. 🙂

Pure heaven. We paid under 90€ for the night and that included king sized bed, a little own working space, big bathroom with a tub and free mini bar including 4 drinks. Wow! And there were cute little bags of gummy bears waiting for us too. 🙂
If the location wasn’t the best, this room sure was on the top, especially compared to its price. The interior decoration was in addition very luxurious. Holiday Inns are usually good what comes to rooms and service, and this one sure wasn’t an exception!
Other notes
Breakfast ★★★★★★★★★☆
Pool ★★★★★★★☆☆☆
Fitness Room ★★★★★☆☆☆☆☆
Breakfast 14€/person, 6.30-10.30
Pool, sauna and very small fitness room were open 6.30-22
Parking private 17.5€ per night (has to be paid with the exactly right amount of cash!)
Lovely rooms, super comfy beds but quite noisy (you can hear steps, talking and things like that from the corridor to your room. Additionally, there is a highway just next to the hotel thus you might hear some traffic noise. Honestly, I really don’t care and I’m good to sleep in a bit noisy conditions but if you get interrupted easily this hotel might not be the best one for you.
The breakfast was above excellent what comes to a number of options! There was plenty of different cereals, fruits, nuts, warm dishes, cheese, cold options like sliced ham and salmon. Plenty of different bread options and drinks were also available. This breakfast was more like brunch in my opinion.
Tip: take some time at morning for swimming or exercising to wake up your body, and go for a bit later breakfast and enjoy it like it was a brunch. 🙂
Overall
Overall ★★★★★★★★★☆
Even though this hotel might not be the most beautiful and it’s located by the highway it’s gorgeous from the inside. This hotel also has its own indoor parking hall which makes this a great stop for road trippers.
Such a wonderful content. Love this 🙂

Thanks for review! Hamburg is pretty easy to achieve from Finland (thanks e.g. to Ryanair’s flights from Tampere to Bremen), so, interesting to read posts from that city!
