My New Breakfast Favorite: Super Delicious and Healthy Sugar-Free Banana Pancakes

Posted by

Couple weeks ago I found a super delicious pancake recipe from one Finnish fitness blog called Metallisydän. You can make these pancakes from scratch in under 15 minutes and they’re super delicious. No added sugar, artificial ingredients or anything you couldn’t find from any regular grocery store.

Super Delicious and Healthy Sugar-Free Banana Pancakes

for 2-4 people

2 bananas

4 eggs

4 egg whites

3dl (1.5 cup) rolled oats

a hint of cardamom

a hint of cinnamon

a hint of salt

1/2 tsp baking powder

Peel the bananas. Measure all the ingredients into a blender. Blend all together. Fry in a pan with some butter or olive oil. Enjoy with fresh berries, vanilla yogurt and whatever you prefer with them. 🙂

Pancakes

These are quite sweet because of the bananas but they don’t make you feel bloated or ill because there isn’t any sugar or artificial ingredients. There is neither dairy in case you’re allergic!

  1. These pancakes are definitely on my easter breakfast list. I do think breakfast is very important but some recipes, though delicious, can still be high in sugar. Thanks for this.

    1. That’s true! I prefer sugar free options in foods I eat more often. It’s nice to have a sweet piece of cake sometimes but if you eat it every morning it sure isn’t good for you. These pancakes taste great and they don’t need any sugar in them! And if you would love them sweeter you can add some berries and honey on top of them. 🙂

  2. They do look amazing. I am imagining that the bananas would work to sweeten up the pancakes naturally. But what I would love to know is what you put on top of the pancakes that looks amazing, and sinful.

    1. Yes bananas sweet these up naturally. I have sugar free vanilla yoghurt and frozen berries on top of the pancakes. They however work good without any toppings too. Or with maple syrup, honey or berries. Yum! 🙂

  3. oh la la, what a nice breakfast! I always make similar pancakes from just 1 banana and 2 eggs. Or 2 and 4 and so on. But this is a bit more luxurious!

    1. Haha! I know they look (and taste) super yummy. I’ve cooked these for like 10 times during April and still cannot get enough. Too delicious. And you can add some berries or cocoa powder to them if you want some more variation. 🙂

  7. I am in L-O-V-E with your recipes and photos! Oats are, without a doubt, one of my favourite foods of all time. Great post, and I look forward to more in the future. 🙂 Good call on adding the cardamom, and you presented the pancakes in such a stunning way.

  8. oh those are my favourite too! ❤ I only do them without baking powder and sometimes add some spinach too (I call them green omelettes) 😉 My favourite is with almond butter spread on the top.
