  1. Peugeot Epivac – vacuum pump

Actually doesn’t help actual tasting but makes it easier because you don’t have to drink or throw away left overs – this one gives couple extra days for your wine! This is very easy to use: close the bottle with wine stopper and just simply pump the air away (make a vacuum). When you want to reopen the bottle just push tilt volve stem inside the stopper to either side and it will let some air in. Then remove the stopper and enjoy! The set I got includes one pump and two stoppers.

  1. Cilio Premium Champagne Cap – Sparkling / champagne bottle closer

This product is just perfect when you want to serve some sparkling but not drink it all. Just close the bottle with Cilio Premium Champagne Cap – that’s very simple, easy to use and gives some extra life for your sparkling! 🙂

  1. Cilio Premium Foilcutter

And now this is cool! I’m always struggling with opening the bottle including the foil (well things are never too easy to do anything when you have long acrylic nails and not too much muscle power haha). This product makes opening any cork-protecting foil very easy. Just put this little opener around it, turn and thin beautiful circle of foil will drop of and now you can open the cork. Very handy!

  1. Koala Anti Drop (2 pieces) – anti-drop roll pourers

I was a bit surprised that these are basically two little circles of some kind of thin metallic-looking material. You just pour them and attach them to the mouth of the bottle and yep, they do work – no dropped wine anywhere. It might be possible to do great without these but these however make it a lot easier! These are usually sold with very valuable price but they might save your nerves and that white coach or tablecloth you love.

  1. Book about wines (Viinistä viiniin 2016, in Finnish)

When you want to compare wines and find something new Internet is great thing. However it’s full of information with varying quality. Thus it’s great thing to have one book that introduces you a lot of wines. One great thing is that they all are rated with same standards, which makes comparing then easier. This one also specifically written about wines available in Finland that’s also great for me (even thought reading in Finnish is not my preference because I write in English and it has become more and more natural to also read in English, maybe it’s however good to be able talk about wine in both languages. 🙂 )

  1. Riedel Veritas Champagne Wine Class

Okay guys. Proper glassware is a must. I think I should do a separate post about glassware and it’s impact to your wine experience. This time we were able to have two classes borrowed for trying. Another one is brand new Riedel Veritas champagne class and other one is regular flute shaped sparkling class.

2016 is Riedel’s 260 years anniversary and I got a hint that there will be new gifts sets and other surprises coming. This Veritas series includes ten classes for different types of wine. Common for all ten is that they are extremely light-weighted masterpieces that are made of high-quality crystal glass; one class is always made of one piece of class. Furthermore they can be washed in a dishwasher that’s great especially for busy people like me (and who would enjoy hand washing anyway? 😉 )

The new shape of champagne glass nicely collects the aroma in its bowl and makes it more visible. However the biggest difference is not only that the aroma is stronger it’s the fact the wine doesn’t touch the edges of your tongue that much. Those areas are very sensible to acids. When the wine goes more to the middle and front area you will more easier be able to taste other things too such as fruits. That makes tasting sparkling more interesting and joyful. In addition the bubbles become smoother because of the shape. Real good, beautiful and thin design is also a plus.

At the end I want to share this “All About Riedel – The Wine Glass Company” video with you guys. There is some general information about glassware and interesting 260 years history of Riedel – all this in less than 4 minutes. For more, check out their webpage here (click).

I found it really fun and interesting to try all these amazing products. I hope you enjoyed too! There will soon be a giveaway about some of sponsored products from Decanter so remember to follow so that you won’t miss it!
